WONDER Kindergarten

The new Adelaide Royal Hospital undoubtedly plays a significant role in the selected area. Since the function and duty of hospitals are to treat and protect patients, patients are often asked to follow the exact instruction that the doctor says, strictly obeyed the restraint and restrictions of the activities, to guarantee the recovery of the body to the utmost extent. Spiritual bondage is neglected often.

The project attempts to create a particular space with a bold concept, a scripted spatial combination of kindergarten and animal rescue, which does not aim to protect people’s bodies, on the contrary, it encourages people to take risks and provides infinite possibilities of adventure to engage people’s minds. It also encourages children to go everywhere and doesn’t confine them to a particular area. The project is about a hybrid structure that completely opposite to how the hospital works.
